SUNNYVALE, CA – The sun wasn’t shining at a tournament held at the Twin Creeks Sports Complex on Jan. 27 and 28 in Sunnyvale, CA. A three hour rain delay was issued before using over $1,000 in turfess (a field drying product) in an attempt to provide playable fields. The rainy conditions prevailed as the entire 12 team coed and seven team women’s division were cancelled. The 11 “D” and 22 “E” division teams played some games until conditions deteriorated. H & L Cargo and Most Hated were scheduled to play each other in the championship game in the men’s “D” division but Mother Nature stepped in and play was unable to continue. Casoul and Team Noah tied for third. The men’s “E” division final had four teams remaining when the event was canceled including, Hustle n Flow vs. Bangin On Dirt and Team Sanchos vs. Stampede.
Though one of Northern California’s driest seasons on record interrupted the Twin Creeks tournament, teams were fortunate enough to get some soggy play in thanks to the hard work of the promoters.
