SACRAMENTO, CA – A dramatic last inning, come from behind grand slam won the game for CO2 at the ASA Backyard Boogie tournament in Sacramento on Feb. 17.

CO2 from Sacramento went 4-0 to steal the game from Yuba City’s D&R Softball Club in the men’s “D” division. In the championship game Tommy Carrasco led his team as they made a comeback in the last inning with a walk off grand slam. D&R’s record for the tournament was 5–2 while third place team Bombs & Cannons from Sacramento went 2–2 for the afternoon. A tie for fourth place went to DSSBats, TTT Ranch and Dynamax who were all 2–2.

Grip N Rip from Yuba City stomped the Misfits from Vacaville in the championship game for the “E” division held on Feb. 18. Grip N Rip went 5–0, winning the championship game 21–9. Their amazing 11 run third inning is what pushed them over the top.

With only nine players, the Misfits played well all day to earn a spot in the Championships, but they couldn’t hold on any longer against the incredible Grip N Rip team who were just too tough to beat. Grip N Rip was able to get hits when they needed them and carried the championship title almost all day.
