OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - The Amateur Softball Association (ASA) announced a partnership with eBay Inc. that allows ASA to terminate the sale of altered softball bats sold through the Internet sales giant. Bats that contained the ASA Certification Mark, but were altered and no longer fulfilled the ASA bat performance standards, were being sold through eBay to unsuspecting players. These sales are considered a violation of ASA’s trademark rights, and have affected their reputation and integrity.

Selling counterfeit materials, such as altered bats is illegal and eBay has joined the force to protect ASA’s property rights as well as their unsuspecting customers.
