SPARKS, NV – With a couple of line drives by Carnage and their allotted homerun, Carnage ended the Deep Freeze League tournament in five innings on Feb. 16 in Sparks, NV.
The team’s go-get-‘em attitude helped Carnage defeat Bully’s without an “if” game. And because both teams had been playing since 8:00 am that morning, Bully’s just didn’t have the motivation to finish the day in first place.
Carnage has only been a team for the last two year’s and when they were already up 5-1 in the top of the second, they began their “tough team” reputation. Brock Kyler from Carnage commented, “Our team played real well together.” Bully’s never really had a chance to catch up from the beginning. During the next couple of innings, Bully’s had a run-down pattern of getting walked or out. When Blue called the game after five innings and a score of 19-7, Bully’s looked like they were ready just to give up all together. That didn’t stop Carnage from celebrating though.
“One of our buddies that isn’t on the team is having his bachelor party tonight. So some of us are going to go to that,” said Andrew Eidson from Carngage.
Eidson was pleased with his day at the tournament. “The competition was really good. We came together as a team really well and we backed each other up.”
Owner of DSS bats, Mitzie Hodges sponsored the tournament and hopes that it will become an annual event. “Overall we received a very positive response. We hope to double the number of teams next year.” Hodges said that the tournament was created for the teams who played in the Deep Freeze League, but out-of-town teams are welcome.
