Triple Grand Slam hits Phoenix

GLENDALE/PHOENIX, AZ – The second leg of the Tournament Sports-Worth Triple Grand Slam was a sellout with 70 teams--44 Men’s and 26 Coed--at two sports complexes, Victory Lane and Papago, over the warmest Spring weekend so far this year. The three Men’s divisions competed on Saturday and the three Coed divisions took the fields on Sunday. Women’s games were scheduled for the following Saturday.

In the 11-team Men’s Purple Division, first place was earned by the undefeated (4-0) FTP, with second going to Nothing Personal (6-2), followed by Syndicate (2-2) in third. In a field of 17 teams, the Blue/Silver Division championship was shared by the 4-0 All Mixed Up and Punishment (5-1), while Dogg Pound (3-2) took third place. The top spot in the 16-team Red/White Division was a split between SBOB (4-0) and Crush (4-1), with Mawsonators (3-2) coming in third.

The eight teams in the Coed Red Division played at Papago Sports Complex. Under The Influence took first place with a record of 5-1, second went to B-C-E (3-3), and a tie for the third spot went to Overhaul (4-1) and ESPN This (3-2). At Victory Lane, the six-team White Division championship was locked up by the 4-0 Beer Buddies with a win over Dubz Crew who finished 3-2; third place went to Nacho Mama Boys & Girls (2-1) and Last Call (2-2). The 12 teams in the Blue/Silver Division also played at Victory Lane with Let It Go (5-0) beating up the second-place Amigos (2-3) to take the championship and leaving third to both Strike Out (3-1) and Yard Dogs Boys & Girls (1-2-1).

Leg III of the Triple Grand Slam will be June 5th and 6th; Leg IV is August 28th and 29th and the Triple Grand Slam Championships will be on September 18th and 19th.
